The Archive

I am afraid that everything I have written,

painted, sketched, said, sculpted, and built

will be surpassed by what the machine learns

from a hundred billion others,

across seven hundred and fifty centuries.

I never thought I would fear the democracy of knowledge,

the ubiquity of tireless creativity.

Now I want to release it all before the wave arrives.

Now I want to take it all back before the machine learns to want it.

And I cannot tell which is worse.
